New work: CEID Banner

CEID 1

There's an eighty-four-foot long banner installed on the Prospect Street facade of Becton Center. Our office worked with colleagues from the School of Engineering & Applied Science to create a piece that embodies the activity that will take place in the Center for Engineering Innovation and Design, which is currently under construction on the first floor of Becton.

The banner, which consists of ten smaller panels, shows the words "CREATE" and "CHANGE" morphing into each other. If you look closely, you can follow the mathematical progression of the shape change.

The Center, which opens this fall, will feature machine shops, multi-use work/study spaces, lecture rooms, and much more. All students will be welcome to use this interdisciplinary space.

Look for the banner the next time you're on Prospect Street -- the viewing experience changes if you're walking next to the banner or if you're seeing it from across the street.
