2025 Winners for Lohmann & Van Sinderen Prizes in Undergraduate Printing and Design

Winners of the 2025 Lohmann & Van Sinderen Prizes for Excellence in Undergraduate Printing and Design were announced at an April 24 awards ceremony in the Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library.

The entries this year included a diverse range of pieces made for personal, academic, and extracurricular purposes. All of this year’s participants are to be congratulated for the quality, craft, and creativity of their work. 

First Prize was awarded to Benjamin Rosenthal (MC ’26) for his Letterpress & Printmaking piece Murder with Obstacles: An Agatha Christie-Themed Gift.

Second Prize in the Letterpress & Printmaking category was awarded to Isabelle Kim-Sherman (GH ’27) for To the Scribe From Worms.

Second Prize in the Digital Design category went to Etai Smotrich-Barr (DC ’26) for his piece Urban Spaces, Lost Time.

Honorable Mentions in the Letterpress & Printmaking category went to Cleo Guerrero (TC ’25) for Life Line,

Noelle Smith (BK ’28) for An Excerpt from ‘The Wheel of Time’,

and Maya Thompson (TC ’26) for Washed Away.

Honorable Mentions in the Digital Design category were awarded to Johann Ortiz Castillo (BR ’26) for his piece Masonry Magazine,

Aileen Santiago (TC ’28) for her body of work, 

and Joshua Gonzalez (JE ’25) for Marrying Ms. Patrick card game. 

The judges for this year’s competition were Charles Biada PC ’13; Bill Buccheri; Raleigh D’Adamo SM ’53; John Gambell M.F.A. ’81; Heather Gendron, Basie Gitlin DC ’10; Rebecca Martz; and Jessica Pigza.
