Detail of a relief commemorating the Old Yale Fence, on the College Street side of Bingham Hall, a freshman dormitory on Yale’s Old Campus (“The Old Yale Fence Stood Here”). The Fence was a popular hangout spot for Yale students for more than 50 years, until it was torn down in 1888 to make way for a classroom building. A replica of the Fence currently borders the interior of Old Campus.
