Detail of a type specimen poster for the Yale typeface, designed by Matthew Carter in 2004. It was inspired by the “De Aetna” typeface designed by the Venetian punchcutter Francesco Griffo in 1495. Named one of the “Ten Typefaces of the Decade” by Print magazine in 2010, it is available free of charge to all members of the Yale community at identity.yale.edu.
